Mayfield Flies With Pilot Brother In F 16 Jet, Faster Than Speed Of Sound
Few people outside the military have taken a ride in a supersonic fighter jet, but a new video by photographer Blair Bunting gives an idea of just how many there are.
Bunting - a commercial photographer with impressive products ranging from famous faces to supercars - had a rare opportunity to ride in the back of an F-16 with the US Air Force Thunderbirds. Along with a lot of pictures, he gave a great video of how he feels about certain maneuvers.
"With the wheels on, we were off the ground burning like hell down the track as he called me the speed.... 100 miles an hour, 200, 300 miles and hours, 400, 500 miles and hours! a crazy thing I remember .... HERE. FROM. G," Bunting wrote on his blog.
Throughout the two-minute-plus video, there's plenty of laughter or, at one point, Bunting exclaims, "Oh my god that's scary."

After a series of maneuvers, including a climb to the tune of 4 G, barrel roll, and some tight turns, Bunting explained in his blog the pilot asked him if he wanted to give 9 G sim. He replied, "Hell."
First, it is in no way comfortable, not even close. I started to feel my face disappear as the skin on my chin was pulled into my mouth. The color of my vision was the next to fade, first red, then green. Squeezing like hell, I did everything I could to get air into my lungs as the G-suit came off. With all the colors of 1950s television, the next thing I noticed was that waves were starting to form in my vision and a vignette appeared. All the while I was listening to the pilot's breathing and trying my hardest to match him. At any moment I can relax and forget about it, just wake up and wonder where I am, but I've learned the hard way to let this happen. Then, as the G lights were installed, they started to leave and the same thing happened. However, if I take a break at that time, the blood leaves my brain very quickly and also pulls me out, so I continue to squeeze as G lifts and my body slowly recovers, where he left
